I seem to be in the mood for quoting quotes; I saw another one on Facebook this morning and it goes like this:
"It's hard to wait around for something that you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up, when you know it's everything you want."
How do you deal with such a situation? They say you always want what you can't have. But what if you can have it; just not in the way YOU want? Would you be prepared to hang around and wait for it if you knew it could be good when and IF it finally did come around? And how long would you wait for? And in the meanwhile, do you change yourself to fit around the barriers set in the situation or is that too much of a compromise to make?
Newly armed with the knowledge that you may be waiting around for something that you may never get, you set off determinedly, vowing to keep quiet, to hold your tongue and to keep your thoughts and feelings to yourself (congratulations. What's new there?) and get on with life exactly in the way you have been doing, were doing before IT came along, never allowing yourself to think about it; or fall. Never fall. The thoughts and feelings will eventually numb away into a dull ache (as opposed to a harsh yearning - you hope) and things will start to look brighter before you know it.
Right?
