So finally arrived in The Bharatland a week ago after months of revving myself up and then deflating and revving and deflating. Have been terribly homesick but speaking to family and friends back home seems to have done the trick! Slowly getting into life here although had a bit of a setback last week, which means I have pretty much all of December to fill with stuff! Bit of a nightmare, but I'm sure it'll all be ok in the end.
Just itching to start dancing, to be honest! Most of the dance terms here don't start until January, which is a b*tch...have been ringing hundreds of places (my poor grandfather with his mile long phone bill!) and spending hours on the internet just to try and find something to do until then.
Reading Eat, Pray, Love. I'm SO glad I left it until now to read! Besides family and friends, it's the one thing keeping me going and somewhat sane (although that's also questionable right now!)
I guess the most terrifying thing about being here is the unknown. I know how things work back home and as a part Taurean, I'm extremely averse to change (I hear you snorting with laughter) so being 3.5K miles away in a somewhat new-ish surrounding, I've panicked and reverted back into my shell. Which really isn't the best way of dealing with things (!)
Hopefully this experience will teach me something about myself (so far I've learnt that I'm far too English to be here!) and teach me a little something about life. The dance is a pure, magical bonus! One that I'm looking most forward to!
