Winter...

Morning y'all! How is everyone this beautiful Wednesday morning?

You know, I almost love sunny winter days more than sunny summer days. Stepping out into the cool, crisp winter air first thing in the morning, feeling it hit your face like a cold icicle, then quickly running to your car or to the bus stop to warm up; feeling your nose get colder and colder as you wait, with the sun shining down on you; feeling that sense of relief when the bus comes or the car warms up and you're finally toasty and on your way!

I love curling up in front of the fire, drinking a glass of Bailey's (the best evening drink EVER!) watching TV or reading a good book. I especially love it when it thunders down with rain whilst you're indoors and feeling and hearing the millions of raindrops pound away at the windows, whilst you're safe in the knowledge that you're indoors and warm. There's something so soothing about rainfall, the proper sheeting-it-down type, that if I'm in bed and get woken up by the rain, I tend to lie there and just listen to it until I fall asleep again.

I think there's something really romantic about the winter. Cozying up with your loved one or with something you love, in front of the fire or in a heated room, knowing you have everything you could possibly need in that moment...

The most gorgeous thing about winter? Snow! I love sitting there by the window just watching it fall, it's last moments of pure purity before it's tainted by the ground, and then watching it settle slowly. There's something so beautiful about snow - it's the purest, most untainted part of nature, slowly enveloping us and everything around it in its beauty.

Winter means Christmas, New Year, New Beginnings...

Magical!

  2. Ur welcome. Spring is a new start, Summer is the embrace, Autumn is beautiful, but Winter as you say is just magical !
I can’t even add anything, because you’ve said it all.
    The cold, frost engulfed mornings
The early welcoming of the night sky
The impatient wait for snow fall
    It’s all just so.... perfect

People are better too in my opinion –
they are more patient and understanding,
    they are generous and forgiving,
and ever so loving and merry :)

    Awww, it’s a shame you’ll miss a lot of it. November, December and Christmas are my favourite times of the year. There’s;
Afternoon walks through the German markets,
    Eggnog latte from StarBucks,
Late evening shopping, for last minute presents,
Families getting together for Christmas dinner, joy and laughter.
I love it all so much.

  3. I know, I'm SO gutted I'll miss it! I considered changing my flight but then figured something would always come up so decided not to! That is the one thing I'll really miss this year - Christmas! My best friend is going to make me a Christmas box as my early present, so I can take it there with me, like with a mini Christmas tree, decorations, etc.
